Code of conduct
As a locksmith we are bound by the Code of Conduct for Security Service Providers, 2003, made under the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001.

2Our services

We cut and program replacement and spare vehicle keys, transponder keys and remotes, mainly from the vehicle's key code, and hand them over at the vehicle in our service area (Johannesburg, Pretoria and greater Gauteng). We serve private owners, dealerships, banks, repossession agents, fleets and auction houses.

Not every vehicle can be done from a key code alone. Some need extra steps, parts or access to the vehicle's systems. We will tell you what your vehicle needs before you accept a quote.

3Quotes and payment

4Proof of identity and ownership

The law requires a locksmith to see written proof of identity and of authority before duplicating a key or starting a vehicle, and to keep that proof on record. So before we cut or program any key, you must give us:

At hand-over we check that the VIN on the vehicle matches your documents. We may make further enquiries to verify what you give us. We may refuse or stop a job at any time if documents are missing, do not match or appear false, and we may report suspected fraud or theft to the South African Police Service. If we refuse a job for these reasons, any call-out fee already incurred is payable.

5Information you give us

Please read this carefully.

By sending us a request, you confirm that the key code, VIN, make, model, year and other details are correct and belong to the vehicle you own or are authorised to act for.

6Hand-over and testing

We test every key on the vehicle at hand-over: that it turns or starts the vehicle, and that the remote locks and unlocks it. Please check the key with us before we leave. If something does not work, tell us immediately so we can fix it on the spot.

7Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship and the keys and parts we supply, and you have at least the warranties the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 gives you. If a key we supplied fails because of a defect in the key or our work, we will repair or replace it, or refund you, as the Act provides.

The guarantee does not cover keys that are lost, damaged by misuse, exposed to water, or affected by a flat battery, or faults in the vehicle itself (such as the immobiliser, ignition, lock barrels or electronics) that we did not cause.

8Cancelling a job

9Limits on our liability

This section limits our liability. Please read it carefully.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence or anything else the law does not allow us to exclude, and nothing limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

11Complaints and disputes
